Master style
My artwork looks like a tiki with a fish bone mouth and leaf like hair. My subject matter is a Polynesian Tiki sculpture. The title of my piece is the creator of the universe. An element that I have is texture.
The media of my piece is clay. The technique I used is slip and score. I used this to attach some pieces to the sculpture. I used water to rehydrate the clay so I can mold it the way I want it. I used the clay tools to carve some lines in my clay to make them look like leaves.
My love for sea life inspired me to create my piece. I tried to make my piece look fierce. My piece does not express a social issue.
My goals an artist is to learn from my mistakes and create a better piece. This piece did help me because I learned the things I missed and fixed them to create a better piece.
I learned how to slip and score pieces on the Tiki. The final piece is what I imagined. I imagined it having a fish bone mouth with a head and a tail. I imagined it having the leaf like hair. This piece will influence my artwork. It will help me with creating clay in the future.
Foreshortening
The Shoe Gallery
My piece is an image of some shoes. The shoe in the front has a Nike logo on it. The title of my piece is called The Shoe Gallery. An element that I have is space. A principle that I have is contrast. The contrast is in the shoes from a light shade to a dark shade. There is space around the shoes.
This piece was created using foreshortening. I used different pencils to make my piece. Some pencils were darker than others. I used cross hatching to blend the different shades of the black together.
I inspiration was the different styles of shoes. This image shows some designs that the shoes have. My piece is supposed to show some shoes from different angels.
My goals as an artist is to make my pieces better as I continue through the art world. My piece is not what I imagined. I thought it would look a little better than what it looks now. It helped me learn how to draw foreshortening.
I learned how to make something look foreshortening. The different ways you can have it. This will help me create another piece that is foreshortening. It will also help me create different types of pieces that have this in them.
Water color
Title: The rising sky
The subject matter of my piece is a sunrise. There's plants in foreground, with water reflecting the sky. The title of my piece is the rising sky because it is an image of a sunrise. My piece has value and line.
To create my piece I used different techniques. I used wet paint on wet paint to blend some colors together. After it dried I put another layer of the color on the it. Once that dried I used wet paint on dry paint to create detail.
The color in the piece inspired me. I love see the beautiful colors reflect from the sky. When I'm near a water source in the morning, I love the sounds of nature.
My goal was to make a realistic piece from water color. I didn't reach my goal because I did not get to make a realistic piece. The painting was not finished.
I learned that you can blend colors by doing wet on wet. You can put details in by wet on dry. My final piece is not what I imagined. I thought it was going to look just like the image, but it did not. It taught me what brushes to use and how to use them.
Portrait
The Sad little boy
My piece is a portrait of a young boy, who has glistening eyes. The most obvious element we use is value and the most obvious principle I use is contrast.
I started by mapping my piece. I then added shading in my piece.I then added contrast.
My inspiration for this piece was the fact that it was already in black and white, so it made it easier. The emotion I tried to convey was the young boy being sad.
My goal as an artist was to create this piece to look like the reference. I did not reach my goal because I needed to crosshatch more and put more detail in the face.
By creating this piece I learned how to crosshatch and how to draw the hair. Overall I do like this piece because This is the best thing I have ever done. I will use what I learned on this piece for future works because I can use these skills to make my pieces better in the future.

An element that I have is color, which the whole piece, and a principle that I have is contrast, which is in the bricks.
The media that I used in my artwork is prismas. I used lighter colors first and went to dark. Once I used the lighter color, I went over it with a darker color to make the color darker. I then blended the color by using the lighter color.
My family who had cancer inspired me to make this piece. When I was little I had cancer and I wanted to show what I had to beat to become cancer free. I tried to show how hard it is to battle cancer.
My goals as an artist is to make a piece that I love and that people would be interested in. This piece did help me reach my goals because people are interested in it.
I learned how to use prismas to create a piece. The final piece is not what I imagined. I imagined the bricks being a different color and the glove being a different color. This will help me create a similar piece.
Cross Contour
Title: Man's best friend
My piece is a dog that has lack nose. The piece is close up. One of the principles I have is contrast. My title is Man's friend to show how the dog will never leave your side.
I mapped out my piece with a pencil so I could fix some mistakes. I used different techniques to find the right one. I tried using different pen textures to try to find what fits the most.
This piece was chosen by my love of dogs. I tried to make the dog look fluffy and snuggly. This piece reminds me of a dog that I've had in the past.
My goal for this piece was to make my piece look 3D. I think I did not reach my goal because it needs more lines and more detail. I sketched the piece in my sketchbook to try different ways to draw it.
I learned about line quality and how to use it. I learned how to use contour and cross contour lines. My final piece was not what I thought it would be. This piece helped me learn some new techniques that I could use in the future.
Oil Pastels
Title: Fierce Mother
My piece shows a place that is cold and a place that is hot right beside each other. The cold side has a tree with snow blowing and the hot side has mountains. An element that I have is color. I used different values of orange and red to create my piece.
My piece was made using oil pastels. I used different techniques to create my piece. I used pressure to blend the blue and purple clouds on the left, orange and red on the right.
The thing that inspired me was how nature can change on you quickly without you knowing. I thought it would a great way to show difficulty in both environments. My is meant to show how bad things can get.
My goal was to create a piece that showed how fierce mother nature can get and how she looks when she shows her teeth. It was king of challenging to get around the tree since the pastels are so big. I also used the blending stumps to help me get into those areas that I couldn't with the regular pastels.
This piece is not what I imagined. I wanted it to look a little more realistic. This piece did help me learn to use the pastels and use the blending stumps so I can put these techniques in future artwork.
